OntarioLearn description: The parallel growth of the Internet and open source computing continues rapidly with a multitude of mobile devices that make working and playing on the go as easy as accessing the Internet from a traditional desktop. The demand for database-driven, cross-platform, web-based applications has increased tremendously. This course is aimed at students with little programming or database experience who wish to develop professional, database-driven web sites that can be accessed from any web-enabled computing device. This is a specialized course that uses the Apache web server’s PHP module and the MySQL database server, typically run on the GNU/Linux operating system. Students will install the Apache and MySQL servers and write web-based applications in PHP and SQL.
