IT Cyber Security for Facility Managers and Contractors Program

Our IT Cyber Security for Facility Managers and Contractors Program was designed to bridge the gap between facility management (FM) and IT as they work together to secure building control systems (that perform either individually or under a single master system integration). These systems are typically combinations of mechanical, electrical, water and gas assets (supported by FM) and IT assets (supported by IT). Cyber security and operational risks are inherent in these building technologies as they can become the target of hackers for the purpose of brand damage, disruption, pivot access to the corporate network, or hurting people in the building or the systems that support the building. Until recently, FM and IT have not typically worked together securing these systems. The courses in this program focus on the perspective of facility managers and contractors and looks to build trust and understanding between FM and IT. Learn about real cyber attacks on control systems (including how IT-induced control system failures occurred by using IT-only software tools and processes), and explore the challenges involved and what to consider when introducing cyber security into the operational technology environment.
