Our Physical Building Management course teaches you about the physical aspects of the total condominium site and how to get the most economic life out of common elements through good maintenance practices. This condo management course focuses on proactive maintenance and reactive management for residential condo structures and examines effective day-to-day building management practices and the handling of emergency situations. Explore a range of topics from a property management perspective, and develop a working knowledge of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, electricity, the building envelope, plumbing systems, fire systems, performance audits and groundskeeping. Learn when to call in professionals, how to work with them, how to solve problems within the physical building environment and how to effectively communicate issues and solutions to your condo board.
This is one of four condominium management courses that prepares you to write the Registered Condominium Manager (RCM) exam administered by the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO). You must purchase an ACMO textbook. ACMO textbooks can be purchased at the George Brown College bookstore. You must register at least two weeks before the first class to make sure you have the textbook in time for the first class. Timely delivery of textbooks cannot be guaranteed if you register any closer to the start date.
You will have the most success in this course if you have already completed our ACMO 9001 Condominium Law course before you start this course.
