Our Provisioning SQL Databases: 765 course teaches you how to install and configure an SQL 2016 database server as well as how to upgrade older SQL servers to the 2016 version. Learn how to deploy an SQL server with Microsoft Azure, how to manage a server within a virtualized environment and how to manipulate and move SQL server files in order to move databases from one partition or server to another. Practice setting up and configuring SQL server maintenance, and learn how to perform ongoing maintenance to secure and protect data. This database administration course can be used as part of your study material for the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) SQL 2016 database certifications.

Course Delivery Method:

This is a self-directed online course delivered via Blackboard Learn with continuous intake registration. That means this course does not have traditional start/end dates. You can register at any time throughout the year (24 hours a day, 7 days a week), and you will have 120 calendar days from the day you receive the online access/course materials to complete the course. Make sure to register in the section (CRN) with the Date(s) range that includes the date on which you plan to start the course (keeping in mind that you will receive your online access/course materials approximately a week after you register).

Course Essentials:

You must have Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Express Edition (which can be downloaded for free from Microsoft). This software requires a computer with 2 GHz (or greater) processor, 8 GB (or greater) RAM, and a Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit (or later) operating system. (You can complete this course using a 32-bit operating system but, if you wish to move on from this course, you will need a 64-bit operating system.)


You must have completed our COMP 9692 Administering SQL Databases: 764 course or our COMP 9693 Administering SQL Databases: 764 (Distance Learning) course. (An approved equivalent is also acceptable.)
