Special Effects Makeup FASH 9236


Our Special Effects Makeup course explores SFX makeup while focusing on detailed character development. Study prosthetic formulation techniques that allow you to create a variety of characters and effects as you progress through all the phases of project conceptualization and prosthetic application. Learn airbrush techniques applicable to prosthetic pieces and creature effects, and learn to apply bald caps using a variety of application techniques. Finally, bring all of your skills together to design and create a fully developed character for your end-of-course photo shoot. Professionalism, etiquette, personal appearance, communication and sanitation standards are integral parts of this course.


Course Delivery Method:

This course uses a blended format that combines both classroom instruction and online learning (via Blackboard Learn). It starts with a mandatory online Blackboard Learn orientation.

Course Essentials:

This course requires you to work on other students and to let other students work on you in order to gain the skills you need to work on models and clients. You will also be required to bring your own model on occasion and for practical exams. This makeup artist course has a mandatory dress code but does not require you to purchase a kit. The kit you purchased for our FASH 9230 Makeup 3: Film and Television course contains almost everything you need for this course.
