Our WSET Level 1 Award in Wines course follows the curriculum of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and provides you with an introduction to wine. This wine course takes a beginner-level approach – both with theory and with tasting – to the world of wine and is suitable for those starting a wine career or pursuing an interest in wine. Get a basic familiarity with the main types and styles of wines through sight, smell and taste, then learn the basic skills you need to describe wines accurately and make food and wine pairings. End the course by writing the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines exam. Receive the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines qualification if you meet the course requirements and pass the exam.
If you meet the course requirements and pass the exam, you will receive the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines qualification (which includes a certificate and a pin).
You must be at least 19 years of age.
Registration in the sections offered in this course closes ten business days before the start date to allow for the ordering of examinations.
Hours and Fees
Allow for enough time to be screened at St. James Campus, 290 Adelaide St. E., Building C (SJC) before heading to your classroom each week. Keep in mind that classes are not operating by restaurant rules; the provided face shield must be worn throughout the tasting portion of each class.
